ARQUIMEA RESEARCH CENTER is hiring a Research Engineer with knowledge in the field of signal processing algorithms. The successful candidate will have knowledge of processing techniques for signal filtering, statistics metrics and classification algorithms. Knowledge on medical image processing will be valuable.

We are a highly multidisciplinary private research center. We encourage you to apply if you enjoy totally random conversations about several topics apart from your area expertise, such as space, quantum physics, lab equipment and testing, disruptive tech… anything cool and nerdy, really!

Tasks to be performed

  • Working in a multidisciplinary team researching and developing signal/image processing algorithms.
  • Modeling and simulating complete solutions to evaluate signal processing approaches.
  • Analyzing and criticizing solutions by using quantitative metrics.
  • Working in different research areas and different kind of applications.
  • Participate in tasks related to new projects proposals, including planning, task estimation, design, design verification, peer review and writing, as part of a team.
  • Plan and execute tasks in collaboration with the product team to ensure project objectives are met.

Required skills, experience and candidate profile

  • University degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics with knowledge in signal or image processing.
  • Experience is signal processing. Experience in medical signals and image processing is desirable and it will be positively valued.
  • Proficient in using simulation tools to evaluate features of the signal processing solutions: Matlab or Python
  • Open minded and ready to be challenged with multi-disciplinary R&D projects. We are looking for someone who thrives working in multidisciplinary and ever-changing environments.

Additionally, we will also value experience in the following areas

  • Medical imaging
  • Digital implementations
  • Methods to improve SNR for several instruments and sensor measurements.
  • Research skills

IMPORTANT. Please, only apply if you have a valid working visa for Spain, and you are willing to move to Tenerife or Gran Canaria islands (Canary Islands, SPAIN).
